Manteca Shooting Today: Man Shot Inside Vehicle on N. Union Road, Suspect Arrested in Stockton

A man was shot during an altercation inside a vehicle in Manteca, California, on Tuesday, prompting a rapid police investigation that led to the arrest of a suspect in Stockton less than an hour later.

According to the Manteca Police Department, officers responded at approximately 12:43 p.m. to the 200 block of N. Union Road after receiving reports of a vehicle that had entered a nearby park and may have been involved in a collision.

When officers arrived, they located an adult male lying on the ground suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.

Investigators also recovered a firearm in the roadway near the scene.

Firefighters and emergency medical personnel provided treatment before transporting the victim to a local hospital for further medical care.
